Enjoy a nature-based retreat nestled at the foot of the Warby-Ovens National Park. Enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Buffalo. Native garden designed & planted by the late Jill Rossiter, local field naturalist, amateur botanist & bird observer. Present owner Chris Farrell (Published Author/wildlife photographer) has fine-tuned the wildlife experience with designated paths and a hide to enjoy over 140 species of Birds, Mammals & reptiles that can be seen in comfort from around the property.
The Property
The cottage is self-catering – for a weekend, short term or medium-term stay. (It is not a bed & breakfast.) It is a peaceful holiday retreat for couples, a family or a group of friends. To stay here is to interact with the local environment and the serenity of this special place.
Kurringai Cottage is a cosy, fully furnished, self-contained cottage which has two bedrooms — Bedroom 1 – 1 x Queen bed, Bedroom 2 – 1 x Queen bed, maximum of 4 guests. For the winter months there are electric blankets, two split systems and plenty of blankets and doonas. For the Summer, the split system in the lounge and one in both the main bedroom and second bedroom will keep you cool and comfortable.
The living room has a TV, Radio and a vast library of non-fiction and fiction books for the avid reader. It has air conditioning and amazing views to the garden and beyond, a mesmerising landscape to enjoy.
The kitchen has an electric cooktop, oven, microwave, fridge, pantry, ample cookware, crockery and cutlery. There is a separate laundry with washing machine and ironing facilities.
The spacious verandah, with gas barbeque and large outdoor setting catches the panoramic view and is set amongst the native garden. Yellow-footed Antechinus, Honeyeaters, Turquoise Parrots, Diamond Firetails, blue wrens and other wildlife come to drink and bathe in the water points off the verandah and purpose-built hide within the garden.
In winter, the early morning sun streams onto the spacious verandas and through the windows of the living room. The house has a northeasterly aspect and overlooks Wangaratta to the north and Oxley, Milawa, Myrtleford and the Victorian Alps to the east.

We wish to share this unique property with like-minded enthusiasts – this is not your typical holiday Airbnb – Kurringai Cottage is a special place for lovers of nature and birds and therefore we only accept bookings from guests wishing to enjoy the gifts this property offers.
Cancellation Policy Strict – Guests get a full refund if they cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before check-in.
